Brian Ellison Design — Long Bio (240 words)

Brian Ellison Design is a multidisciplinary interior design studio based in
Melbourne, Florida. Founded in 2017 by Brian Ellison, the studio works with
a small number of clients each year on residential, hospitality, and
commercial interiors across Florida's Space Coast.

The studio's aesthetic posture is what Brian calls "modern tropical" — a
restrained, material-first language that draws as easily from Florida's
coastal architecture as it does from Restoration Hardware's discipline,
where Brian spent the formative years of his career before founding the
practice.

Each engagement begins with extended listening — to a family's life, an
operator's service flow, a building's posture and place. The work that
follows is composed slowly. Architecture and interior, furniture and
fixture, light and material are pulled together as one continuous gesture
rather than assembled as separate decisions.

The studio's hallmarks are honest materials applied with restraint
(limewash plaster, weathered bronze, quarter-sawn oak, hand-loomed linen),
furniture and millwork built to the site rather than sourced from a
catalog, and lighting designed for the hours people actually inhabit a
room — not the day a photographer arrives.

Brian Ellison Design has been recognized as Best of Houzz 2025 and carries
a 4.5-star service rating across more than 60 client engagements. The
studio operates by appointment only.
